Born and raised in Southern California, Ryan is a proud Aztec who graduated from San Diego State University in 1996. That same year, Ryan started his insurance career at Arrowhead General Insurance Agency in the technical support department where he mastered rating and submission software. By 1998 he was ready to work more closely with the clients and products so he transitioned to the personal lines marketing team. It was there that he developed his long-term relationships with agents by collaborating on growth strategies that focused on increased agency efficiency and productivity through automated tools. In 2007, Ryan was named Chief Marketing Officer at Arrowhead and went on to oversee a variety of successful projects, including the continued integration of online tools throughout the organization that ensured program growth for both personal and commercial products.
After the sale of Arrowhead to Brown and Brown Insurance in 2012, Ryan joined the team at Personable General Insurance Agency as the senior vice president of sales and marketing. Via strategic acquisitions and organic growth, he helped to successfully grow Personable’s business in three years from $15 million in written premium to $105 million, which facilitated the sale to Abry Partners in 2014. By January 2016, Ryan was ready to take his two decades of insurance experience to start up Prospect General.
